£10 notes have been around for many years, so how is it that they have suddenly become scarce?

I think it is fivers that are in short supply judging by the number of heavy £1 pound coins I am given in change..

Bringing in a £5 coin might help, £10 notes of late have been very grumby and used.

As a P.S to my post (no pun intended) in the year 1900 and freezing cold I worked for the G.P.O as a clerk, every year without fail they used to run out of copper coins.

Well all I get is a 10% discount card from Focus, free prescriptions and a bus pass. Ha, ha. No buses anywhere near me. Us oldies need free prescriptions, well I do - all my Biddie ailments would cost my entire pension every month. I won't get £400.00 heating allowance until I am over 75 - if I ever get there!!!
