Using violence against burglars

Proposals from the Shadow Home Secretary ...
Currently, you can only use "reasonable force" against an intruder.
The Conservatives would replace this, and allow homeowners to use any amount of force to defend themselves and their property unless it was "grossly disproportionate"
About time we were allowed to stand up against those who violate our properties?
Or a licence for vigilantes?
