unfair transfer of child custody
HELP! HELP! HELP!. the courts are stealing my son. i am a father. have been raising my son for the last six and a half years with very little input from his mother. he came to live with me when he was 2. social services taking him off her because she was an alcoholic. since then she has cleaned herself up and seeked contact. any court order contact only ever stays in place for a while as she always lets our son down. some reason or other to not show up. the latest was last january. she didnt turn up after christmas contact stating she got confused. did not know she was meant to see him. we let that go. the next time was in febuary. she decided she would go away for a valentine weekend and that was more important than contact. i had enouygh. said that i thought she was an unfit influence in his life. i lost of course. they said she should see him but this was her last chance. i said fine. only problem was. they increased her contact from one weekend to 2 weekends. on top of that, i was ordered to do all the transportation. dropping him off and picking him up. a 60 mile round trip each way. while doing so i had to bring my six year old step daughter and 3 year old son with me. during dinner time and rush hour traffic. before finallising order i stated i thought this was unreasonable. that i would not agree to doing all tyhe transportation. i thought it only fair that she do half the work. i suggest dropping him off and her returning. him. they said no. i would do it all and that was it or else. i said i would not agree to that. i was very angery. sick of favourable treatment for her and contempt for me. i had always been a goo father. well that day the judge ordered a transfer or residency and that i am to just deliver him to her tommorow, on boxing day. i dont know what to do. i cant just hand over my child. its killing me. its so unfair. please help. he deserves better. he is being ripped from a loving famiily. and home. can i fight

A child remains the mother's responsibility till it leaves full time education; the reason being that the biological parentage is indisputable. However if the mother is unfit, an alcoholic or drug addict then the child may pass to the 'said' father if married.
