Shares the Island with Haiti but I've heard nothing about the affect of the Earthquake there ,have you ?

No, I've wondered about this. Too bothered about all their luxury hotels and keeping their tourists happy I suppose.

I wondered too, but it seems not to have been affected. One of the reasons may be the way Haiti's forests have been cut down, making the land less stable.

Sorry - I misunderstood the question as why haven't we heard about the Dominican Republic been helping their neighbours out...

Relief supplies are being send into Haiti via the Dominican Republic since their ports and airport are functioning,. There are also Dominican rescue teams in Haiti. Why do you think they are not helping?

I just do not believe that the Earthquake stopped at the border of theses two countries.
