After reading this, I'll be having 2nd thoughts about giving my hard-earned money to India!

Money is no object to Brown, unless it is his own country men who need it, (of course I don't mean the Scots, they seem to get looked after enough).

Is he trying his utmost to leave the next Government with debts that will take years for all the taxpayers to pay off?

I am of the opinion that if a State is rich enough to afford nuclear weapons then it is rich enough to look after it's own people. Of course that doesn't help the people who are being sidelined.

I assume our gift has some kind of political benefit in terms of getting other countries to side with us on issues, as otherwise I don't see why we're doing it, but don't ask me how it works.

He's given Pakistan millions, so perhaps he can't be seen to be taking sides?

I watched a prog on the TV about a couple of weeks ago, where celebs were doling out mosquito nets in Uganda, on behalf of comic relief. They distributed over a million of the nets which cost £5-00 each.
It got me thinking about how long we have known about malaria being linked to the humble mozzy....at least 50yrs!
So, it's taken 50yrs for the Ugandan government not to take any action to stop the population dieing of malaria...it beggars belief!
I've come to the conclusion that the more we give to these 'basket case' countries, the more they will take, thus relieving them of any responsibility to their population as a whole.
