well done France, there, I said it!
How are they going to enforce this? Give plod the power to rip off the veils? arrest and bang em up? INteresting law enforcement conundrum. I suspect they all bail out of France and come here where they can do what they like, he ho. Things can only get better!, eh?

but mine was here first! and also has a different angle!
I don't suppose you'd approve of middle Eastern countries retalliating by telling British holiday makers they cannot wear revealing bathing suits and have to use segregated beaches?

Would that be different?

Oh I suppose it's a "If they want our money" situation neatly avoiding "if we want their oil " and "Arab money bailing out Barclays" etc.

Do I get a Geezer blue badge for asking for a level playing field (otherwise known as irritating you?)
And now there's one above.....lol

not at all jake I'd understand if they did that with bathing rules etc. In fact I belive they do enforce those kinds of rules in some of them.

No BGB I'm afraid they are awarded for irrelevancies etc, must try harder!

pussy

Less than 2000 women wear the veil in France, a country of 62,000,000.
Strange place, France. In Antibes, Juan-les-Pins and other Cote d'Azur resorts topless sunbathing on the beach is accepted, without question, but it's against local law to be bare-chested in the town itself. And I mean bare-chested.The law applies to men and women and is enforced.
They already forbid the wearing of 'overt' religious symbols in their state schools so crucifixes, crosses, skullcaps and the Islamic veil are all banned.
If this ever becomes law they'll enforce it as they do other rules. If the general public doesn't approve of the law it will be ignored and never enforced (that's the French way !)
