As is now becoming clear (as if it wasnt already !) Blair and others ignored nearly all of his lawyers advice re going to war on iraq.

Of course him and his cronies did, they had no choice, Blair had already promised GW that he would weigh in he had no choice he couldnt welch on his promise.

unless GW called the whole shebang off good ole Tone had no other way of getting out of the Krap hed gotten into, it was a done deal he was just going through the motions with all his meetings and consultations.

forget all the reasons, given it was for oil , wmd, sadaam was a naught boy, it was this, it was that blah blah they were all irelevant at the end of the day.

GW new the USA would never get away with it on their own, it wasnt that he needed military assistance he needed others to shoulder the blame, so he got gullible tony to help out and here we are today wasting money on an inquiry to tell us nothing and hold nobody to account.

Personally, I found yesterday with the two FO lawyers saying the war was illegal, was very interesting. I am glad that a (mostly) public Inquiry is taking place, and the role the various Ministers took during the disastrous decision to go to war is set out for all to see.

Nothing may be accomplished by the Inquiry, the clock cannot be turned back, but those with blood on their hands should not be allowed to hide behind secrecy and 70 year embargoes.
