Government 'tick box' approach to ethnicity

Do you think you are discriminated against, when asked to tick the boxes?
If you think you are not, why isn't there never a box for, White English?

I think the article is ridiculous and propogating racist attitudes. This paragraph - 'However the IPCC report said that asking people to be so simplistic about often complex racial backgrounds, left some white groups with the impression that some groups were preferred over others.' That is pathetic. What about the minorities who tick the boxes thinking that their ethnicity will be taken into account? Funny how the majority of 'Whites' have a problem with this?
And maybe Oldgit instead of 'White English' as your suggestion, what about this - 'How patriotic do you consider yourself?
0% being not at all
1% - 50% being somewhat patriotic
51% - 99% being happily patriotic
and 100% being absolutely patriotic?
And forgive my spelling mistakes please, I need to locate a dictionary.

Quinlad, fair point, but I work for London Underground, and we get these forms at leats a couple of times a year, Scottish and Welsh are there, but not English, I have a handicapped daughter, and we use Social Sevices, as a result, we have to fill in these forms, and was actually told, we are not allowed to put down that we are English.
That last was a couple of years ago, but I doubt its changed.
