Was he being racist for speaking his mind, or is his opinion closer to the truth than we dare to say?

Not racist . He's entitled to soberly and calmly criticise the tenets of a belief or culture.Otherwise every academic, theologian, historian and atheist would be in the dock at some point or other !
David Davies is quite right to offer his opinion. There are a lot of people out there who agree with him. The Welsh Secretary should be the one to be ashamed of himself for saying that we should be tolerant of this type of behaviour. It is against the law to use and abuse women whatever the culture and creed of the man concerned and and should not be tolerated under any circumstances. Well done Mr Davis for having the courage to speak out.
Just shows his ignorance.

If Muslims are medieval because they believe a text written in the 7th century, what does that make us who follow a text several centuries earlier?
Closer to the truth or closer to you opinion?

Or do you now believe the two are inseperable?

The difference being we have moved on.
That is a matter of opinion.
but i thought in all your other posts that we were moving backwards as a society with the claim that the olden days were safer, better and less debauched.

or is that only when you are peddling a different argument ?

Ankou Haven't you the ability to reason things out, or don't you bother just so you can have a cheap dig?

When I refer to moving backwards as a society, and that the years ago we were much safer and less debauched, I was of course referring to life in the 50s. not the damn middle ages.
