Does anyone know if you can buy a reasonably priced printer to print out photos one that doesn't cost a bomb in ink. The cartidges for my printer are expensive. I have just got back off holiday and taken hundreds of pictures. Thanks.

These home printers are fine for a couple of prints that one instantly (like today).
Otherwise it is a hugely expensive exercise.
I download my pictures to Jessops and they turn up about 4 days later in the post - less than £10 for 100.
It's a rip-off in ink for a lot of printers.

Good advice Zacsmaster and buildersmate.
Just one thing to beware of when getting digital camera prints done at Boots, Jessops or wherever is that you may well lose some of the original picture because of the difference in aspect ratio between the original photo and a 6x4 or 7x5 print. A typical digital camera picture has an aspect ratio of 1.33 : 1 whereas a 7x5 print is 1.4 : 1 and a 6x4 print is 1.5 : 1. If you have any important detail near an edge of your original photo (heads, feet, hilltops, etc) it is as well to do some editing and selective cropping of the original to the correct dimensions before taking the memory card into the store. If you don't do this, it is highly likely that your prints will be missing some critical bits.
I have used http://www3.snapfish.co.uk/home/ for years. You can download your photos, store them, share them and even alter the images...and then of course print them.
It's really the only way unless you have a great printer with gallons of ink.

They are always offering something for nothing as well...free prints etc.
I always set up a Bonus Print account and after sorting out what I want printed I download the photo's and hey presto they are posted though my letter box a day or two later. Never failed me yet.

FAR FAR cheaper than Ink
