France bans them but Tower Hamlets, plans to spend £1.8m on arches to celebrate them.
Yet it would appear than no one wants them, least of all the Muslims.
/// A council spokeswoman said the idea of the arch was “loosely based on the sculptural form of a headscarf, reflecting the many cultural backgrounds that have occupied and sought refuge in and around Brick Lane over the centuries”.///
Seemed like a good idea at the time, back to the drawing board, I suggest.

The headscarf sculptures ( I don't myself like them) are supposed to let you know you are entering this particular area, the idea being to build it into a tourist area.
Hopefully, the tourists spend lots of money making the initial outlay worthwhile. This is always subjective, and many of London's most loved landmarks were initially scorned upon when first erected.
