Dog gets medal equivalent to VC

In my opinion dogs have no conception of bravery. Working dogs are trained to do things for which they get a reward. Is this another example of human sentimentality?

Yeah,he's a lovely dog and a good,well trained boy,but come on,he's a labrador-he'd rather have a biscuit!

I agree,it's people's pride,the dog has no idea he could be blown up,he certainly doues not know what 'bravery' is. He's just being a lovely dog and doing what he is trained to do.

It would take a very big bar of chocolate for me to go there Hazlinny,but if a medal for the dog makes the soldiers feel good and proud then I'm all for it.They are really the brave ones but I still agree with McMouse.

They gave homing pigeons bravery medals in WWII..........come on.

I don't think that dog has suffered in any way and he doesn't really know of the potential danger.If he were to get injured or killed then I would agree,but he's safe and retired now and he's cute-shame he's not got much of a tail tho!

Are these working dogs' tails docked for safety reasons to save them from spinal injury. Tails get in the way.
