Not sure where you have been all these years, but suicide bombs are nothing new in Afghanistan, they have been used since the conflict started.

It's another Ireland and Vietnam. We cannot win.
You can defeat an idea by having a better idea.
It will take many years to change Afghanistan, but it can be done.
The Taliban said at the outbreak of the war that we were too used to comfort and ease, that we couldn't struggle like them to survive, that we were not as tough as them, maybe they were right....
this "war" never was "winnable", it was all spin to justify a lost cause from the word go.

once the allied troops leave these schithole countries, the warlords and taliban and god knows who else will just move back in, business as usual.

we have money but they have time, money is running out but their time is endless as has been the case in the past.

they dont think like us, they dont fight like us, they are happy to hit and run and hide for as long as it takes

Roadside bombs are one thing but the use of suicide bombers gives it another dimension. Aerial drones can't spot them, the bomber can mix with the general population and without a checkpoint at every corner they can cause havoc. The Islam fanatics seem to have an endless supply of these nutters willing to sacrifice their lives.

I'm just glad we don't have them in the UK. YET!
This war is, and has always been, unwinnable.

To win a war against 'Terrorists', or at least an enemy whose uniform is civilian clothes, you need the ACTIVE support of the civilian population.

For various reasons, the allied troops have never had that.

Quite agree Lonnie. The civilians seem to switch to the highest bidder.
