If the attached photo had shown 4 smiling black faces, there would have been shouts of "racist", and "why did they have to attach a photo if they had been white they wouldn't have bothered" etc. etc.

The 'benefit culture' in this country is a cancer.
I have absolutely no problem with people receiving benefits who cannot work.
However, I have a massive problem with people receiving my hard-earned when they can't be bothered to work, and that includes foolish 17 year old girls who deliberately get themselves pregnant.
Why do I bother schlepping my sorry a r se up to London Bridge everyday on the 6.52 and returning home gone 7pm after both my kids have gone to bed (and therefore not having seen them all day), just so the lazy, feckless and long term useless can sit on their ever increasing back sides all day and take the p!ss?
Surely handing out benefits to people who can't be bothered to work gets on everybody's t!ts, doesn't it?

As a single man on job seekers allowance, I object to the constant battering people like me receive. I am very confident in a return to work in the next couple of months. Until then, I survive on £128 a fortnight. Out of this I use £20 to cover the amount of rent that I cant claim on housing benefit. That leaves me with £108 a fortnight to cover fuel, food etc. It's no picnic and nor should it be. I can't believe how some people seem to spend their lives on benefits.

I agree with flip-flop.
I have recently had to give up work (worked all my life - am 56) due to ill health.
Due to a mistake by DWP, I recently had to apply for a crisis loan. To obtain one for everyday essentials (food etc) you get a rigorous grilling for about 30mins on the phone, which I realise has a purpose, but it makes you feel like a criminal. Then, further degradation, you have to report at the benefit office at a particular time, where the staff never unlock the doors on time (on purpose, I think). Meanwhile, some of the other people in the queue, are standing there, swearing, drinking from cans etc. The whole process is a nightmare for genuine people. The work-shy don't seem to be affected at all.

Why aren't benefit payments linked to how long you have worked? Surely those who have lost their jobs after working for 20 or 30 years should get more than someone who has never worked? Also why do you get more money for every child you have whilst on benefits? People who work don't get extra from their employers when they have children. The whole system needs a radical overhaul, but we know they won't because they will lose votes.

Yes I thought this idea of Kathyans was very good.
Perhaps then the goverment would be more concerned about companies shutting down, and equally concerned at getting these unfortunate workers back into full employment.
