Should, admirals, generals and air chief marshals travel first class, at the taxpayers expense?

MPs are still entitled to first-class train travel, and there is no plan to restrict first-class travel for government ministers, should these also be allowed to travel first class?

The ordinary armed service personal, have very little if any perks, should not these be allowed free travel, to their home towns?

It is many years since I left the RAF, but in the 60s and 70s we were entitled to 4 free rail warrants per year. Don't know if that has changed.

No, the only time we had a free travel warrant was when we were posted to another station, even then we had to travel by the route the RAF had chosen.

If we wanted to take another route, that went via one's home town, perhaps to get a night at home, then we had to pay the extra.

don't think the army got free travel..........I remember in the 60's and 70's loads of sqaddies hitch-hiked home.

A lot of servicemen used to go home each weekend - that's why they hitched-hiked then, but they still got their four warrants a year, or mileage allowance in lieu.
