UKIP prospective MP for Ilford, Paul Wiffen has come up with a corker:

David Cameron referred to UKIP as "fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists mostly".

Was he onto something???

Do you think that the views expressed by Mr wiffen could be construed as racist?

VHG - very interesting point. Never really thought of it the way you put it. Here's a thought - if the number of immigrants to the UK over the past (say) 40 years was unchanged, but the incoming people dispersed all over the country, so there wasn't high numbers in one area and zero elsewhere - would that be a preferable situation?
VHG, you say it's only the number of immigrants that worries you, not their colour. Then you immediately give an example based on colour!

How do you know coloured people aren't English? And how do you know white people are?

You're judging entirely on appearances.

Not attacking you, but curious - would you feel the same if you visited (say) Golders Green in London, which has a high number of Jewish families/immigrants?
The guy's is a genius who can argue. Kindly repoduced by Lucy, I find people like Sp1814 far more offensive, this guy is telling the truth 100% who can fault his logic? The yoghurt knitters here would have us all gloss over the facts to maintain some sort of lefty utopian impartialtiy the fact are clear.
Superb analysis.

The title of this thread isn't actually accurate. The website author wasn't calling the UKIP a racist organisation...just 'sinister'.

You really think that Wiffen is a genuis who can argue?

He himself refers to his mail as something fired off in the heat of the moment.

Finally - do you think it's just the 'lefties' who argue against his summarisation of nationalistic characters?
we usually talk the truth when angry, QED this case, rant though it is I can't faind anything false in it. The lefties tend toi excuse the unexcusable, usually to defend their flawed ideology, they generally hate any form of dissent and tend to pillory the source.
Ha, we talk the truth when we're angry?

We tend to say what's in our hearts, rather than the 'truth'.

The whole idea of 'truth' is as you say, subjective. Whilst you may think that "all Romanian gypsies beat their wives and children into begging and stealing money they can gamble with, and that Muslims are nutters who want to kill us and put us under medieval Sharia law, and the same Africans who sold their Afro-Caribbean brothers into a slavery that Britain was first to abolish" - it doesn't necessarily make it true.

Are you saying that you cannot find anything to argue with in the above?

Can you see parallels with those 'truths' that some people claim about Jews and other 'truths' that some people claim about white men?

Do you think that there's a difference between discussing race, and posting what some could describe as a tirade?
Hello Splat! Hope all's well with you... you yougurt knitting loonie you...

The best response? Probably 'Is you dissing me coz I iz black?'.... I'm now going to have to call someone something racist just so I can say that as a response... I'm so easily amused.
well sp i think it goes without saying that no one seriously thinks 100% of whatever has the behaviour specified but surely it must be common enough for a particular group to be assigned with the trait in question.
It wasn't so long ago that people roundly believed Jews drank blood.

Possibly if your only contact with a particular race came from what you saw in the papers perhaps?
Jake, the point that I was trying to make is that one person may see himself as a patriot whereas another person may see him as a racist. "I fly The Union Flag because I'm proud to be British" versus, "Flying The Union Flag is offensive". Sorry if I'm not making my self clear.
UKIP the thinking man's BNP.
stokemaveric Report This(Thu 22:32 08/Apr/10) ''im not racist...but the uk govt has made me racist''....thats my answer.... , SO you Are a Racist ?
sp1814 I've now read , richard cor's document , which makes interesting reading.
I wonder how well the other parties would appear if they were subject to the same scrutiny. Richard seems to be obsessed with UKIP I wonder why ?

However if I vote for any minority party it will only be as a protest against the major parties none of whom have much credibility. At the moment UKIP seem to be the only party that has any voice against the EU and Immigration. Probably none of them will get elected but a UKIP vote may be the best protest vote there is. Who else is there ?
I like "UKIP the thinking man's BNP!"

Chris Huhne was on radio 4 the other day and described UKIP as the BNP with blazers which I thought was quite accurate and amusing.
Question Author
A better protest vote would be a vote for the LibDems...another minority party.
