Not sure if anyone else has posted this - but not a big surprise on this story - I think we all guessed from the start.

There are so many of these cases den and you can usually read between the lines. The clever guys never get caught - there are very few of those !
I thought it very odd when you didn't see or hear him at the time DEN
Well, suzie certainly thought so:

and so did quite a few others.

No doubt redhelen will reply with “innocent until proven guilty” etc.

Well it did seem strange - the same sort of attack was carried out last year, to the day on the same village post office. I just wonder what the motive was - obviously it was'nt just money, he must have wanted his wife out of the way aswell. Perhaps a life policy payout.
you don't think he's innocent until proven guilty, New Judge? I thought it was part of the British legal system.
Of course, legally he is innocent until proven guilty.

Personally, I haven't been innocent for years!

How about You? :-)
A quaint legal concept which should not be allowed to get in the way of proper justice.
How does it get in the way of 'proper' justice? And what is improper justice?
It was a joke, jno!

Of course the presumption of innocence (which is a legal presumption, not a fact) must prevail and everybody, including Mr Garbutt (should he be charged) must have the allegation against him proved beyond reasonable doubt.

I raised the matter flippantly because a number of those who took part in the earlier thread merely suggested Mr Garbutt was involved in his wife's murder. Redhelen sternly took them to task with her suggestion that the lynch mobs were about to be let loose.
Of course he's innocent until proven guilty. That's why he's been arrested so that they can find the proof, if it exists. I contributed to the last thread about this and voiced my doubts then.
