This is disgusting why haven't this family been identified? They are a disgrace to Britain.

How do they they manage in this country, no hotel, bar, cafe or any other establishment would adhere to their racist requests.

It was said “The Ritz-Carlton has policies in place prohibiting discrimination and harassment and takes very seriously all allegations of discrimination and harassment.”

It would appear not since their requests where entered on the Hotel's computer system.

Rodney Morgan is given as a name in this matter.......

Read it properly.............and a link would have been useful.
Morgan family arrived as guests and specified their preference to not be served by 'people of colour' or with 'foreign accents'.

do people in florida have british accents then?

disgusting

The lawsuit, filed in Fort Myers District Court on Wednesday, claims Tranchant was so offended he has had to seek medical and psychological help.

Although I agree that it is disgusting behaviour would he really take it that ^^ badly to need medical help?
he does seem to be going for all he can out of it, ummmm.
That is a disgraceful request in the first place AOG - the hotel should not have acceded to it.
I find this very hard to believe. As we are all aware the US is probably the most litigious nation on the planet.

Did not one person employed complain against this before it got to the waiter and how did he find out. Duty manager say oh you can't serve them they are racists? The amount of non white people employed by that hotel must be huge.

And in the great scheme of things a £200 a night hotel wouldn't need/want these people. £20,000 a night maybe.

And if you were a racist I wouldn't have thought you would pick the US as a holiday destination or at least not Miami.

It has all the ingredients of a disaffected employee.
Is there irrefutable proof the Morgan family actually made the request they are accused of?
Are we 100% sure the man hasn't made the whole thing up to get compensation?

If the answer to both questions is yes then the Morgan family should be prosecuted under race hate laws and the hotel should also be brought to book for not showing them the door immediately.
What's incredible is not that such people exist, but that the hotel would go along with their request.

I doubt they'll be doing it again though, not after they've written a huge cheque to cover the man's 'psychological counselling'.
"had to seek medical and psychological help"

yeah right of course he is.

As far as i'm concerned the family can request what they want, they are paying, if the hotel objected they can always refuse the booking, likewise he can refuse to book if they object to his requests

I take it they didn`t go to the Saturday night curry buffet ?

I do not usually answer rude persons but I will make a exception in your case.

I was quite aware his name was Rodney Morgan, but there are more ways of identifying a person than by just their name, a photograph of the person, their address, for example.

There are many links and a polite "please" would be useful.

Lessons to be learnt, Don't consider everyone as stupid as yourself, and if you want a link please ask politely or if you are not capable, use a search engine.

It sounds very fishy to me.

'The lawsuit says the Morgan family arrived and specified their preference not to be served by “people of colour” or with “foreign accents”. Their preference was typed into the hotel's computer system to alert senior staff. The note in the system said the family were “very prejudiced”.

Who is that aimed at AOG?
It's ok....I see now.

Jack you're so rude..!!
///A note of their demand was allegedly made on behalf of Edward Staros, the hotel’s vice-president and managing director.

“As per Mr Staros this couple is very, very prejudice and do like like [sic] ppl of color or foreign accents,” was allegedly typed into the hotel’s computer system.///

^^^ from the article in the Times.

We have no word on who actually typed this into the hotel computer. I wouldn't be surprised to find that the waiter made the entry himself.
My thoughts too, Daffy.
I would go for maximum compensation in the same situ......it's ignorance of Rodney Morgan & the hotel.

The poor waiter may have a wife & family depending on his income.
Maximum compensation?

I`d say about £50
I don't think anyone has said he's lost his job, Tamborine.
