Yes he called her some sort of bigot, and she didn't deserve to be called that in that tone, but is it not good that he has no time for bigots? If that's how she came across to him, whether because he misunderstood or not, he must have got the impression she was a bigot.

Why did she come across as a bigot? Because she asked a question about immigration that millions of other people are asking, but that he didn't have the guts to address openly? Sadly for him, his lessons in smiling haven't worked this time. He needs to learn to turn his microphone off before expressing his clear contempt for the electorate.

As I have said on another thread regarding this topic, it is not so much the 'bigoted' remark that I hold against Brown, rather his earlier comments that he should not have been introduced to this lady and attempting to blame one of his junior staff for allowing it to happen. So much for 'meet the people!'.

With regard to his unseemly haste in rushing round to the lady's home to apologise (where a hand-written letter would have carried more weight) and his subsequent breast-beating and 'Mea culpa' afterwards, then all I can say is, 'Pass the sick bag, Alice' - totally false and unconvincing. Do I detect the hand of Lord Peter Voldemort in all this? His sphincter must be twitching alarmingly at the thought that within 8 days he could be out of a job with no prospect of a political comeback.

Brown told Duffy that equally as many Brits leave these shores as immigrants arrive.

Immigrants from E.Europe & Mid East out number the Brits who've left my area by 100 to 1. ie One aged couple I know has gone to live permanently in Spain whereas our towns are heaving with foreigners.

Hardly equal immigration & migration; Mr 'Gobby' Brown !
