To invade a country one has to land vast numbers of troops in the country and fight and conquer the inhabitants before taking over their spoils of war.
This didn't happen in Africa or India.

I dare say there's still a few I've missed out.

They had their own governments and their own way of life, they didn't need or want us to change it, it was their country, until a load of immigrants turned up with their funny foreign ways and changed everything to suit themselves.
