While the government is cutting the pay of civil servants who earn little more than the minimum wage , these parasites seem to thrive.
If I have read correctly , the hooray Henrietta that Andy married and then divorced is now trying to sell his time for money.
Good job Prince Harry is still in the forces. Else we would have to find a made up job to justify him also...

We have a Monarchy as do many other European countries and we have to support them. If you do not like this, then either emigrate or vote for a Political Party that will, if voted in, replace the Monarchy.

Duchess of York was a commoner and personally I do not like commoners marrying into Royalty.....just a personal whim.

If you really want to see who "embarrasses the country" just go to any UK airports during the summer or better still, any popular tourist resort in Europe..........no need to look at the Monarchy.

I think they should make the royal family a private limited company, so that they have to support themselves and not rely on the taxpayer. They leech off the public too much and there are too many hangers-on.

I guess my answer is contraversial, but it's how I feel.

sqad - if i was a lot younger, I would definitely emigrate, I think this country has totally gone to the dogs and I don't think there is a political party which would replace the monarchy!

I agree about the hangers on. I was in a flight back from Mallorca one year and Prince Michael of Kent and his family were on the flight, plus two rows of ancient dowagers dripping in gold. When I asked who they were I was told that they were their "hangers on". All paid for by the taxpayer.

sqad ....Yes I agree a lot of the louts who travel to Europe and drink cheap local booze and put on a show are also an embarrassment to the country.
Why do I have to emigrate ? None of the major political parties have a policy for dissolving the royal family and other hangers on. They all value the chance of a peerage too much. I'm excited that I will see change in my life time. Once the Queen dies , I feel the future of the monarchy will be judged by the public in general.

I think you will find most of the younger people in this country have very little interest in the royal family. If the whole royal mob were to vanish over night, what impact would it have on the man in the street ?
A few supermarkets would have to get a TV celeb to open them ....
Some highly trained young men would have the chance to fly in the RAF , rather than the royal princesses who of course got the places via pure merit ...wink wink ....
