To all those that say "Immigration enriches the quality of life in the UK" I say this "would you still harbor the same thoughts if you came back from holiday and found your house inhabited by migrants?

Before you condemn the house owner for going on holiday and leaving his house un-protected.

Or feel sorry for these immigrants, because they have no where else to live, then blame the government for not looking after them.

Or blaming capitalism for allowing some to own their own property, while others have none.

Perhaps England needs to wake up to the fact that the vast majority of assylum seakers and eastern europeans that enter our country settle in England and do not concern the Scotch Welsh or Irish populations the way it does the English.

over what time-frame has the population of Kent almost doubled?!?
And does it refer to immigration into Kent i.e. from other parts of UK or immigrants into UK almost doubling Kent's population?

Kent's population has risen 9.4% in 15 years (1993-2008), to 1,406,600. That's actually less than it was a century earlier (1,511,806 in 1911). So it's rather hard to say how far back the chief constable has traced immigration.

Perhaps we should just remember that it is in the interests fo chief constables to show crime soaring relentlessly.
