The police are criticised for a poor investigation - fair comment.. and he should be able to sue them for damages.. but what about the woman???

She went on to accuse other men of the exact same thing... SHE should be banged up!!! Or at least forced into serious therapy...

She has almost ruined this poor mans life - and that of his wife!

She's been diagnosed as 'too ill' to prosecute.
Yes she should be prosecuted.

Do we know whether she was or not?
There's my answer...

too ill to prosecute... I wonder when that diagnosis took place and whether she has committed the same offence since?

She should be forced into some kind of therapy.. this man could have lost everything because of her! Who's to say her crime isnt as bad as his alleged one!
If she's too ill to prosecute I'd say there might be chance she was sectioned.
Yes Shannon Taylor should be prosecuted.
She has made about 7 such allegations in different parts of the country and has changed her name several times, too.

First-rate nutter, it would appear.
Does anyone know if the woman's illness is physical or mental?
If for example she has terminal cancer with only weeks to live then prosecuting her would serve no purpose except to cost the taxpayer lots of money. If she is mentally ill then surely some form of treatment (preferably residential) is better, mostly to stop her accusing more innocent men.
Question Author
how do you know her name Chuck??
Bloody hell....she hasn't even been sectioned.

Daffy "If she is mentally ill then surely some form of treatment (preferably residential) is better, mostly to stop her accusing more innocent men."

I agree...

surely society and the public have a right to be protected from any future accusations by this woman.. especially if she is cunning and moves about changing her name! The Police forces dont talk to each other up and down the country - so she cant easily get away with.. and might even be perfecting up her tactics and story each time!!
the poor sod was charged for being inside

Mr Blackwell was later awarded £252,500 in compensation - but minus the estimated £12,500 cost of his food and accommodation while behind bars.

OMG...

That first link states she cannot be prosectued "Northamptonshire Police yesterday claimed there was "insufficient evidence""

Yet they had NO evidence against HIM .. and he went to prison for 3 years!

His wife stood by him and knew he hadnt done it...

You would be filled with fury knowing your beloved husband is in prison for something you believe he didnt do. I cant imagine what that poor family have been through
I've just seen that too Drf!! thats unbelievable!

You'd at least think they would have the sense to award 240k damages and just keep quiet about the extra 12.5k!

£12,500 cost of his food and accommodation

He wouldnt have cost them that if they had not convicted an innocent man!!!

Just incredible... This case should be made even more public than it is now.. They should do interviews etc to highlight their case!
I just cant believe this can happen in this day and age...

It could have been your husband.. or brother... or relative!
Nosha there will be others in prison that are innocent, when they come out you will never hear about them.
They have a great deal of evidence against her.

All they have to do is get a copy of the court transcript from the rape case and read that out at her trial.

Case closed one would have thought.
Or you could read the links, cassa..........?
