Well nearly all

Moat Death,

The inquest into his death heard that police fired shotgun-mounted XRep Tasers at Moat, which were not approved for use by the Home Office.

Do you think any policeman will get his hand slapped ?

Fearsome looking weapon

Can you imagine the effect of it hitting someone with their fingers on the trigger of a gun held to their own head.

I expect if they'd have used a helicopter gun ship on Moat, if they had one.
And in answer to your question.

Though illegal to use this weapon on British Streets, no one will be reprimanded, demoted, sacked or prosecuted for its use in this case.

i suspect questions might well be asked that if they are not approved, then how come they had them. but they will be higher level i guess.

had they used the standard issue taser, then if they are too far away they might not have hit him at all, i guess the extended range electronic projectile (xrep) afforded better accyracy.

I'm with doc on this one. They could have shot his head off with a tank for all I care. Are we supposed to be feeling sorry for him?

Thing is Squarebear if they are not approved, then how come they had them.

What else have they got that is not APPROVED ?
Will they use it on your Wife/Husband/son/ etc one night to see how effective it is ?

If any of the above had shot and killed an innocent man, seriously wounded their ex-partner and all but blinded a defenceless policeman............I wouldn't much care !!!
if my wif/husband whatever was waving a gun in my face, i would certainly hope so.
Any means necessary in this case.

The average bobby in Yorkshire doesn't carry a taser, as far as I know.

Nice answer Jack look at the two video clips, after a night on the town would you like to see you son Tasered and beaten on the ground.

They never killed anyone.
Morning doc. XX How was bingo ?
I agree with you and squarebear wholeheartedly.
This man was a ruthless killer and I,m sure that, once he was found, there was only ever going to be one outcome.
Interesting clipsin that it doesn't actually show what the guy on the floor did to get arrested. We need to know what he did to deserve such treatment, otherwise you could just show a video of Moat crouched in the woods and not realise what he had done.

squarebear >> We need to know what he did to deserve such treatment <<

So it depends on how naughty he was if he gets a good beating and tasering on the street.

Who needs a court of Law with the good old British bobby on the beat .
Who or what you suggest other than the good old bobbies?
slyduck, if you take a look at my link you will see the options they have to consider in a very short space of time.

Of course! For all I know he might have had a shotgun and was popping away at random people. Of course, if he was just a bit merry then that was overkill. You can't tell from the video though.
