///Iv'e met many pre op transexuals and they've all agreed that they would feel better and normal psychologically once the op was done. Which tells me that this is indeed cosmetic. ///
rubix,
you don't seem to understand the meaning of the word 'cosmetic'.
it pertains to appearance and looks.
If you've met pre-op people you should know that gender reassignment is about someone's sense of who and what they are.
I've met deaf people who manage very well as they are but tell me they will feel better and normal psychologically if they have a cochlear implant. Indeed I have met deaf parents who don't want their children to have the op because it will deny 'who they really are'.
Whilst deaf people can live excellent lives, many do not feel defined as deaf, they want to change themselves to hearing id surgery will permit. It's the same with many other conditions.
