spanish air traffic controllers strike
2 Answers
Hi - i am due to fly to spain on august 18th, now although i have followed the story regarding talks breaking down etc... and arbitrators getting involved, there is ONE aspect that i read today in EL PAIS (spanish big newspaper) they said that the talks will be resumed on thursday and a decision either way wil be announced on friday - then i goes on to say that NO FLIGHTS BEFORE 22 AUGUST will be affected because aparently 'airline sector action must be announced at least 10 days in advance'..............
so what do you think? shall i still pack? i have rung easyjet who i am flying with and they just say nothing is in black and white yet? I am not expecting expert advice here, just wanted a general opinion?
My parents live there and are 70 odd, and i have saved/worked hard all year to go and see them - and it really pisses me off when they do this during theee busiest week of the year - thanks in advance x

I believe that they have people to work those jobs when the union workers strike. It may cause unusaully long delays in landing and taking off, but major airlines must fly and usually stick to their original schedules. I will be flying into Spain on Sept 8th so I hope this is short lived.
