It's silly for anyone to deny that within some Islamic societies this practice is accepted - and often expected. It happens. Having said that two wrongs don't make a right, so bibblebub's analogy to the teachings of the bible is irrelevant - unless you consider that these people are still living in the dark ages. With 1.5 billion muslims and a dozen + variations thereof, many strange things are accepted. There are undoubtedly very extreme forms of the religion. The mistake is tar everyone with the same brush. A wahhabist from Pakistan or Saudi is living in the dark ages compared to a Sunni from secular Turkey.
