Taking the nappy off at night

My two year old is doing really well with her potty training. Wont pee in a nappy now. Had a few ups and downs with the poos but its all come together now and she's really good

I was still putting a nappy on her at nights but I was finding most days they were dry in the morning and every other day there was a some pee in it

So I've had her nappy off at nights for the past couple of weeks and most nights if she needs to pee she wakens and shouts for me and i take her to the toilet. Or if I'm up through the night for the toilet I just nip in and get her and take her down and she pees and goes straight to bed again

We've had a few accidents since I've taken the nappy off and I've gone through and she's still sleeping but wet.

Any tips on what I can do to try and prevent these accidents? i'm trying to limit the amount of liquids she gets after tea time and got the potty in the bedroom for through the nights if she wakens

With mine, I made sure that they went to the toilet before they went to bed (obviously!), put those nappy-sheet things on the bed and took them to the toilet at the same time every night before I went to bed. I know every child is different but she might respond to a night-time routine.

assuming you go to bed a lot later than she does, you might try taking her to the loo as you go to bed so her bladder doesn't get so full.

no accidents last night. i took her to the toilet about 11 and was surprised by the amount she peed since i'd put her to bed at 8 and she peed then

If you wake her up to wee you are training her to wee in the night. Use the sheets and leave her be. She needs to learn how to go through the night without weeing.

2 is a bit young for this imo...

i know i get up and pee through the night and so does my partner and she does really well since she's sleeping from 8 till 8 and only peeing once

i know what your meaning though, am i just creating another problem now with waking her for a pee or just let her wet the bed

she really had to start potty training as she was taking her nappy of and pulling down her trousers when out and about and then just started to hate peeing in her nappy. so i've just gone with the flow with things and its working really well just the night time now.

I didn't mean day time. I meant a bit young for night time training. I'd get the nappy sheets or pull ups and wait and see for a bit. You can re-use the pull ups/sheets if she stays dry.

I took my son out of nappies day and night at the same time when he reached two. He seemed ready and I just decided to go for it. Had very few accidents at all. Personally, I think you just have to take the plunge and put up with a few accidents without doing anything special. As for these training pants, I think they are completely silly. Most kids will become dry and cleaning without 'training them' as such.

Sorry ummmm. I hadn't seen your post about pull ups. My reply wasn't directed at you. I just think that all these pull up things do nothing to encourage kids to become dry.

That's ok....I didn't use them either. I did use the plastic sheets though. My son was still wetting the bed at 6.

IMO its like puppies...at first you take them out to pee frequently then as the bladder gets bigger they can hold it for longer....

My daughter was dry in the daytime at 2, after next door's little girl aged 3 saw her in a nappy and showed her how to wee on the potty; she refused to wear a nappy after that and always used the potty except if she had a daytime nap when she would wee and not wake up.
At night she continued to wet the bed until she was almost 5. I had received a 1st appointment at the 'bed wetting clinic' although she did not know about this. Two nights before the appointment she stayed dry and never slept though a wee again.
Despite using disposable nappy and a rubber sheet I had to wash sheets every day as she wetted both top and bottom sheets. Don't make a fuss about a wet bed though, just strip it off and put it clean in a matter of fact way. You don't want the child to get worried about it; it will all happen in good time.
