why as a disabled woman am i struggling to find a job from home?
17 Answers
I am unable to go back to a regular job due to disability but could still work from home doing any variety of things. So far the jobcentre have been rude and unhelpful and just about every website and publication refuses to publish my adverts as they have "rules about that kind of thing" I want to do this legally I dont want to be on benefit and I am bored silly.
It seems the world wants me to stay off work, why would you want to be on benefit and not on the go I dont know!
Does anyone else have this issue? Has anyone found any work from home jobs that are legit? Do you know of any jobs going?

I was a senior HR Manager and have experience in recruitment and customer service as well as proof reading and would even do mail shots, packaging items, making items, typing, proof reading etc etc but all I can find is adverts wanting me to send money. I occaisionally get emails from people asking if I would be interested in a business opportunity but generally it is money laundering.... Real jobs needed for people who cant get to work but the job centre and agencies wont help!
a good friend of mine works as a site moderator for an online forum.
Its hard work and she is usually on a night shift, but that works for her as she then gets time with her family in the day and can survive on just a few hours sleep.
you could try searching for such vacancies which i presume must be advertised somewhere. I shall try and ask her how she found hers when i next speak to her

i think the trouble is...lots of people would love to work from home...but as has been stated there just isnt the jobs available.
also the jobs that are done at home often require occasional visits to the office and meetings etc so if you cant do that, then the company will not hire you.
i assume if you cannot even get out the house, then you must be pretty limited in what you can do anyway...
could you make stuff an sell it? cakes...gift cards....etc?
make a website perhaps?

This company has just been set up by someone who realised that there are people with skills out there who need jobs, but just can't seem to find them! They always pay above a living wage too.
All the best,
Spare Ed

I take it you are on incap rather than job seeker's allowance. This is why the job centre aren't being any help. My friend has the same problem - their targets are aimed at getting folk off jsa so it's not in their interests to help you as it won't help their figures. It sucks and I'm sure there are plenty others in a similar position. My friend has now applied for a medical to prove he can work so that he'll be switched to JSA and all the help in finding work that goes with it, but it's less money so he'll really be struggling if he can't find anything. I can't give you any advice but I do wish you luck x
