The elixir of youth?

Could the key to an almost eternal youth be close at hand?
It's also good for cataracts I understand.

Is this potentially a bad thing though?
This pill won't come cheap, I'd imagine Mugabe (and others) would be wiling to buy a few, and isn't that the problem perhaps?
The only people who could afford such a pill would be the rich and the powerful, not neccessarily the righteous or the good.

There used to be a plant called silphium, grown in north Africa in Roman days, that could cure impotence and headaches (so I suppose some forf him and some for her) and produce abortions. Unfortunately it's died out, but if anyone could recreate it it might be worth something.

Great link 123everton, so in effect this is a super anti-oxidant.
Surely an anti-oxidant that is so strong that it stops all oxidation dead in it's tracks surely must have some drawbacks? And is oxidation of living cells and atoms the only reason we get old? There's always natural wear and tear and the human biological clock which this pill wouldn't be able to halt. Its still a miracle pill if it does what it claims which is not to halt old age but to stop one of the reasons why it happens.

Jno, that plant do exist. Google it, I'm sure you'd recognise it. http://tinyurl.com/22vefb3
