The Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt is pleased with the proposal. Some people are easly pleased scrap the Licence Fee and let those who like the BBC pay to view.
Problem solved and everyone is happy.

I think the BBC need much greater powers to clamp down on license fee dodgers.

Their officers should have the right to force an entry if they think you're dodging the license fee

Maybe get the police to enforce it the way they do car tax

Only fair on the rest of us honest citizens.

Mind you with all these tiny TVs now its so easy to hide them - need to get suspect characters to empty out their pockets so the police can check for hidden TVs

It's the only way forward!
The BBC, by its own admission, is left wing biased. Coupled with the fact they intend to strike during the Tory conference (Not that I want to see it) shows more bias.

Surely this breaks the charter so they should all be sacked and thats the end of them and the licence fe. And bloody good ridence to all of them
Is the Director General and the board of Governors intending to strike too then YMB?
Yoyngmafbog,

The bosses at the BBC have not told its workers when to strike. It is the Union, and they have chosen the Tory Conference to get more publicity for their cause. It is a stupid suggestion that the tining of the strike shows bias.
r.soul...i seriously hope you have not put a link up here that relates to a story in the paper about you yourself...?

if you are the man in the story, and i suspect you are, then i strongly suggest you email the ed and get the link removed...too much personal info

Joko i can look after myself

Has anyone noticed how the fans of the BBC never like the idea of them using encryption. If the BBC is so good everyone would rush out and pay for the service.

I think they will lose a lot of customers. They only get there money paid now under threats of court action and £1000 fines.

Just like The British Empire the BBC have had there day and are on the way out.

What is wrong with there detection vans and hand held meters.
Crush the telly's brilliant jake, a gem
Youngmafbog - they admitted to a past left wing bias not a present one.

RebelSouls - I pay my licence not through fear of being taken to court but because I like BBC output. Can go subscription for all I care I'd still pay for it.
Gromit says "The law is, if you have a television you must have a license."

WRONG.
