Base Jumper Parachute Fails ... !

"An Australian woman fell to her death in Malaysia when her parachute failed to open after she leapt off a 541ft tower for a base jumping event, organisers said yesterday."

her parachute got caught up with her helmet. Not a lot you can do to avoid that, I expect - maybe just a matter of her head being tilted the wrong way or something.

The thing that gets me about these sort of things is that noone ever talks about the poor b u g g e r who has to scoop up all the bits, for minimum wage.

In the article I read, it said it was a practice jump. Can you really practice jumping off a 500 foot tower? How are you supposed to learn from your mistakes - 'Mental note to self: when doing the actual jump, be sure to open parachute' ?

Everton...they are not on minimum wage. My step Dad use to do it...and clean up houses after people had committed suicide. Or when someone had died and had been left there for weeks. Certainly not minimum wage..
