Depends where they live. If they did live in an area of high unemployment where wages were little more than the minimum then their 25K would still be a lot more than a worker would be getting.
You wait till they impose a £26K cap on bankers bonuses and we'll hear you squeel

why I don't get a bonus, well not a 5 figure one anyway, I couldn't care less about bankers bonuses.

So you don't mind paying for non working families with 14 kids living in a mansion then Jake, that's ok by you is it?
You'll never stop with these sweeping generalisations will you - I've said it before and I'll say it again - do you actually have any idea what it must be like to be in the shoes of someone who really is genuinely stuck and needs this assistance to get back on their feet ?
This is precisely what I mean by "drooling" and "rabid" - it's loaded with anger based on what appears to be assumption. And just because I appear to be defending this does not give you the right to assume I fit into this category (as you did before).

No because I was brought up in a "worsky" family on benefits, I never want to return there. You can't start any lower down than me in this country, every one has at least the same chance as me, everyone, there is no excuse for not contributing, for normal healthy people. The safety net is for those that can't not those that won't

According to the link there are 50000 such "families" on more than £26k, paid for by tax payers.

What do you do for a living?

What do I do for a living ? I work.
Thanks Gromit - does my bum look big in it ? ;-)
AnswerPrancer-AOG must be pi55ing himself laughing at the way he is able to wind you up so much.
I hope so, it would be great to know that he has a sense of humour ;-)
Why do those unemployed poor families live in posh addresses such as Mayfair? I know they are trying to change upward mobility but isn't it stretching a bit far to mix with the hobknobs.

They should know their place and move to working class areas of London where the rents are cheaper.
There is no reason for people to live in posh areas of London. I cant afford to live there yet I work in London. It is even more salt in the wound to be paying for some workshy piece of scum.
and before you start Jake, I dont get any bonuses.

R1, to answer your question, since no one else seems able, I wold suggest for the vast majority, especially those actively seeking employment, it will be no change.

For those that have chosen scrounging as a lifestyle it may be a shock. But then when you look at the likes of that woman who paid homage to Moat who can say that it is not a good thing? (Apart from Jake and Answerprancer)

I see you did not say what work then answerparancer. Are you a closet Banker on millions?
