Don't you think a 'Genuine Asylum Seeker' would seek refuge in the nearest safe country, not travel thousands of miles to try and settle specifically in the UK?
And if they do come here, surely it is them who should be given temporary type of accommodation, not having prime housing stock specially set aside for them.

Let's put you in an completely hypothetical situation here.
Say this country became hostile to you for some reason, and that you needed to escape imminent danger in this country.
The options open to you were Scotland or Wales, in either of these countries you would be completely safe.
Would you choose to ignore these options and make your way, half way across Europe or over the Atlantic to the USA before you requested asylum?
Let's put you in an completely hypothetical situation here.
