Pim Fortuyn's murder

Bit of an enigma this fellow, some policies that I imagine would not be to the taste of most answerbank users but an active gay rights activist, and gay himself. Seems like he exhibited antipodal characteristics and belief. What does everyone make of his murder ? Will it breeze over or will civil unrest f(in Holland at least) follow. ?

Civil unrest is rather rare in the Netherlands. However, he was a shock to the system and politics will have to adjust. The current coalistion discussion will probably not lead to a stable government and it is widely expected that there will be elections in two years time. Social-economical and cultural issues need urgently addressed though.
