Knowing the nature of governments I think that this has been too big around the world for them to risk it happening again. Sometimes it takes something like this to get measures put in place that should have been done a long time ago.

We all loved the story this time and it had a happy ending but if it happened again it wouldn't be quite so thrilling no matter what the ending was.
It seems hundreds if not thousands of miners are killed every year in China. In fact they had a disaster just a few weeks ago but nothing was said about their safe return. Human life in that country matters very little and they seem to put up with it for the sake of so called progress.
