Whether or not people die from malnutrition in the UK is not the issue, sara.

Some of the countries where they may die in such a way and to whom we do provide aid (notably India and China) have vastly healthier economies to our own. China enjoys double digit economic growth whilst India has its own space programme.

It is absolutely preposterous that our Overseas Aid budget should be ring fenced whilst we are giving money to such nations and to those where we have little or no idea what is being done with the cash.

People who wish to provide financial support to such regimes can do so – there are plenty of charities that specialise in funnelling funds to allegedly good causes abroad.

I don't suppose for a moment that anyone in the Labour Party will think it's their mismanagement that has brought this about. They should collectively be made to empty their bank accounts to counter the debt.
