Harriet Harman, the former Equality Minister, normally notorious for her politically correct views, has dared to call ginger haired Treasury Minister Danny Alexander a ‘ginger rodent’.
This is from a woman who spends most of her time sticking up for minorities of all types, or don't ginger haired people come under her brief?
What would have been the outcry if someone had called a black person 'a black rodent'?

Must have seemed a good, if obvious, joke at the time. It started by her rather laboured reference to the grey squirrel and she then went on in that vein, but opted to use 'ginger' for her opponent squirrel/ rodent rather than 'red' that being how his hair/fur is described [Groan]. Not very good is it? Calling him 'red' would have confused everyone!
Had she thought, she'd have realised that she would be criticised by AOG and never have ventured further, whether she herself has a ginger child or not.

Haaaaaaaa! This is getting dafter! As Steve has pointed out, the use of the word 'nasty' here is really pretty nasty, and what about Sandy's question? Not nice being called a Tory surely? And oops, silly me. Not being quite as pedantic as some of the others here I used ...... horror of horrors ....... wait for it .........the wrong 'R' word!!!! Arrrrgh! Oooo, slapped legs there! But hey ho! It could have been worse. At least I managed to avoid using the dreaded 'G' word. Cor, crossed candlesticks at ten paces for that one!! Tell you what, call me a dumb blonde if you like. I never get upset at being described as blonde. ;o)
By the way, as has been admirably illustrated, the terms 'sense of humour' and 'political correctness' never sit well together. Personally I'd substitute 'miserable' for both. :o)
