Why do many men like young girls/women?

I have never ever really understood the state of almost infatuation that older males have with really young girls/women 16+ is this something to do with ego or as the male gets older does he look in the mirror and see a virile 17 year old youth staring back? I could understand an older male going for a woman that's in her 30's-40's as you get a woman in her prime as well as an experienced and often intelligent person. What exactly does a 17 year old have to offer a 30-70 male? Just their bodies? Funny thing is sometime you see young girls taking these old men for a ride, taking their money and using them without ever giving up anything as far as I'm concerned. Is it a trophy thing? Is that it? Is that all some men want in their latter years?

Hi mm, i must the odd one out, as i´ve always found older women more attractive, even now at 51 years old. a younger woman to me is a blank canvass. But most of mates in uk seem to prefer 17 yr olds!!

Off the subject a bit.

Many years ago in the late 50's a cousin of mine at the age of 21 married her 72 year old suitor. He had a nice house and a yacht and lavished attention upon her. I don't know whether her parents tried to discourage her or not. Her marriage lasted two weeks and she returned to her parents - the guy had actually wanted her physically as well and she hadn't bargained for that! Mind you in the late 50's 72 was considered geriatric!!

What´s wrong with trophies?...they are usually given to celebrate success.

I admire you in not wanting or needing a woman.....of any age.
Maybe it is an age thing, may be it is insecurity, maybe it is puerile...........but I wouldnt change it.

It's partly primeval instinct.

Under the reproduction criteria, which still informs our sexual urges, no matter how 'civilised' we think we are as as cultured individuals - we are programmed to look for a partner who is going to help to produce offspring and further our species.

That means men (and this is entirely general because we are talking in an athropoligical context) are attracted to young women, often with wide hips and large breasts because they suggest good child-bearing qualifications. In their turn, women are attreacted to muscular men who will not only provide them with peltny of opportunities for child-birth, but will also provide protection for them, and said offspring.

With our veneer of civilsation applied on the top, men have a subconcious perception that a young woman will be sexually inventive and willing to absorb techniques and ideas, as well as being in thrall to a man who can provide regular sexual activity and satisfaction - which of course, is all men!

Men are not good at reality - they assume that any attraction they feel for an attractive young woman is returned with interest, regardless of how old / out of shape / boring / ugly / lecherous the man may be.

I often find myself apologising for my gender - this is just one more example!
