Nov 5th - Cancel it?

Although we're all going to an organised Bonfire/Firework do tomorrow we've bought a few (pretty) fireworks for a little do in the garden later, There will be half a dozen of us and I'll be doing jacket pots,sausages, toffee apples etc & mulled wine.

Now one of my neighbours has poo-pooed the idea and has asked me if I've taken insurance out for the night, isn't this taking PC too far. I've never heard of such a thing, he's put a real damper on things now, what would you do? Cancel it? - OR what?

Morning Jem - is this neighbour invited to your firework party? I definately would not cancel it. Tell him/her the only insurance you need is a hosepipe.

Why should you cancel it because of what he says. Just make sure whoever is lighting the fireworks knows exactly what they are doing and have a good time.

Personally I hate fireworks but each to their own.

Is he the sort likely to try and make a claim should one of your fireworks inadvertently stray over his fence ?

He may be giving you advance notice of the fact.............unfortunately.

ummmm...it is no big deal for the Spaniards, but the ex Pats get together for organised displays. We don´t go. ;-)

You are going to an organised display of fireworks and then coming home for more fireworks (pretty?) and a barbecue.I hope that it is correct.
My first question must be.........isn´t the organised display enough for you?
Bring you friends home right enough, but do you really need to go into the garden for more jollities ?

Oh bring back the days of my childhood before this PC culture arrived. I can still remember my aunt and uncle and my cousins coming over for Nov 5th. My father would set the fireworks off outside our house that had a large grassy island in the middle of the cul de sac. No one complained and a great time was had by all.
I'd ignore the miserable so and so. Hope you have a good night.
