Muslims who fought for Britain
I only became aware of this when scanning through a post from yesterday:
http://www.metro.co.u...tten-on-armistice-day
Why is it that the contribution from Muslim and Commonwealth troops during the last two world wars isn't celebrated?
How comes none of us knows about the "2.5million men and women who came over to do their bit in World War II"?
Is it because it flies in the face of the usual Islamophobic rhetoric spouted by the dailymailers (who want everyone to believe that "yer typical Muslim is a banner-waving extremist")?
Can anyone explain this oddity?

Muslims who fought for the Nazi SS.

There will be some who will wish you hadn't brought this up.
Regarding the contribution made by commonwealth troops during WW1 & WW2 being celebrated.
They often are Hindus, Sikhs, Gurkha, Jamaica. along with many other nations.troops
Both wars were World Wars, and these troops wasn't necessary fighting just for the British, they were fighting also to protect their home land or free their homeland, whichever was the case.

Just speak for yourself, I myself know plenty about them, and if you, instead of making racist remarks, was also to spend your time reading the numerous books or viewing the numerous DVDs on the subject, you may also be made aware of them.

There's a famous poster from WW2 with a defiant Tommy standing on the white cliffs shaking his fist "very well alone!" he declares, truth is somewhat different.
We were never alone, we had Canadians, New Zealanders, Austrailian, South Africans (lots of Africans) and then there's the Indians (incorporating Nepalese Gurkhas and Pakistanis), one of our best regiments in Africa and Italy was the Rajputana Rifles, Churchill destroyed them in The Third Battle Of Monte Cassino to show Stalin how tough we were.
We lost a lot of Kiwis and French Zouaves in that battle too.
Again it's often overlooked the role the Zouaves played in the war, the only real pell mell battle prosecuted by the French in 1940 was at Villers-Bretoneux, and they were Algerians.
Large swathes of France were first liberated by Zouaves but come independence these soldiers pensions were frozen at the 1966 rate, THEY STILL ARE!
Rezeegir, you have to try and comprehend western (principally) U.S foreign to grasp the roots of modern political Islam, I'd suggest you start by looking at Iran from about 1950 onwards, you could go a little earlier and see us steal their oil in WW2, but it's around 1953 that you begin to see the hubris of an anti western ideology.

Most of the original muslim immigrants to UK had connections with the Indian Army as do the hindus. They are not overlooked & It's up to their heirs to commemorate them.

AOG
So you would join me in praising the bravery of the Commonwealth troops?
I think that every time someone says, "My grandfather fought for this country, not to let it be overrun with immigrants", it would be fair to say, "Yes, YOUR grandfather, and the grandfathers of the descendents who emigrated here".
Isn't that more accurate?

If this is in someway a post aimed at those made yesterday that were outraged at the poppy burning thing by islamist extremist sp, I think it's in very poor taste.
I hope anyone with an ounce of decency was as outraged as I was to see yesterdays shenanighans by those scum, waving their silly banners and shouting death to british soldiers.
If this isn't aimed at people, like me who were disgusted yesterday, I apologise. But for the life of me I can't think of another reason for you to make this post sp.
