Tuition Fees? Sick MP's!

I've just heard the Speaker announce the result of the vote in the commons and I found the childish antics of our so-called professional politicians absolutely sickening. Cheering at the result of a measure that will bring further financial hardship on young people. I can't believe we pay these people to carry on like this.

I'm with you redhelen..they've always got enough money to take gap years havn't they.. and there always out on the town ..but don't want to pay for an education..I'm glad its got past..I think they should pay more..

The students aren't going to pay more.

Most of the fees are paid by the government backed loans system and they become a debt for the student who pays low level of interest.

By allowing the fees to increase, the government haven't reduced our spending - they have tripled it!

How is that reducing the deficit?

And as there are earnings criteria to the repayment, many of the student loans will never be repaid.

You could always become a student and take out a student loan and pay it back over 30 yrs at a very very low interest rate.. and instead of going to university and getting some silly micky mouse degree, you could just flit off to the phillipines or peru for a year..

redhelen years ago i had friends who lived in flats in what is the student quarter. none of them went to uni they all worked. but someone like you would see them leave there flat and probably said the same.
they lived in that area because that was the place to get a cheap flat

Just watching the antics on tv,not of the mps but protesters.I would tot up the cost of the police,the cost of repairing all the damage and add it on to the student loans.That will teach em!!!
