This woman is a menace, is this another way of increasing our already generous overseas aid by the 'back door'?

My Mum & Dad have worked all their lives up until 65.
P!ss off Harriet Harman..

This made me angry too, I just don;t understand why it's OK to use taxpayers' money to send abroad via benefits when we already have a massive foreign aid pot - went up to 37 billion in the budget didn't it. And yes it's criminal the way the elderly are expected to make themselves poor and/or homeless to ensure good care, charity begins at home.
I don't often agree with your sentiments AOG (so I don't normally respond) but in this case I do. I can't believe she is endorsing it. Everybody knows it happens anyway but for a minister to give praise to it is ridiculous. If these immigrants are legitimitely working and sending earnings abroad then fine but to send benefits that us tax payers pay for is taking this p!ss!

She's a fool to speak out in public like this - but which would you prefer, the immigrants sending £10 home (which will keep a family for a week in some countries), or the Government trying to support them by allowing them all to come here to live with the wage-earner? I think the former is the preferable option.
L33 I don't think the Benefits system in this country is meant to be abused, If these immigrants (no-one mentions Muslims except you) cannot or will not find work they should not be allowed to send money back to their families. The Government are funding these people already in foreign aid. The fact that these countries have corrupt governments seem to have gone over their heads. I object to the fact that there are so many of them here. The money they are sponging from the state would fund quite a few hospitals for the natives of this country.
