So I read in today's paper that a Bill was placed before the Ugandan Parliament to introduce the death penalty for homosexuality.

In Britain, you have to find a different B&B.

In Uganda, they want to hang you.

Does this put our problems into any sort of perspective?

yes it certainly shows what a song and dance about nothing we make of these issues. I doubt yer Ugandan gays are all that bothered about getting refused in Guest houses!
Quite right, geezer.
Because I'm in no danger of being hanged in this country, I should just 'put up and shut up'.
Well thought out argument.

jth ... I meant "our" as a society. Ahem.

Vibe ... I live in the gay capital of the UK ... I never see "gay" and "shut up" in the same sentence.

... but while the papers are all very excited about this small victory for gay rights ... a few hundred pounds on someone's pocket ... there are gay people around the world being murdered for their sexual orientation.

And, far from clamping down on it, the Ugandan Parliament wants to take over the killing, and do it themselves!!!
JJ....please....advice from sqad......."they" all knew what you meant in you OP........don´t waste your breath"

I think 'they' will end up just as dead, doc.............
Each person who has HIV/Aids and passes it onto a partner knowingly is guilty of attempted murder. As 97% of Aids related illness are in Sub Saharan Africa you can understand why Sudan has the death penalty.

In Britain although not condemning the practice what is done in our schools to warn them of the possible illness? Encouraging gay relationships and gay laws, is a threat to millions of youngsters who are sexually nieve. Cross gender sex antics have only brought it into the hetrosexuality community.

Ah, good to see the AIDS/gay connection is still with us...........
"In Britain, you have to find a different B&B"

what i failed to realise, was how many of these b&b's were actually christian b&b's (presumably advertised as such??). i do see it as easy money for lawyers though.

Ironically, I think they are okay with Bandits in Uganda.

The country is full of outlaws and robbers and smugglers.

It's just gay people that they are opposed to.

Thought ...

What would a "Christian" B&B do if a gay Vicar wanted to stay there?
Well,not really JJ.
They are still in the stone age,and we are far ahead of it.
I know which country I would prefer to be in.
In Uganda and a quite a few African countries men believe that by screwing a virgin(preferably under 15) you protect yourself from the HIV virus and AIDS,I wonder what perspective we should take from that?
"What would a "Christian" B&B do if a gay Vicar wanted to stay there?"

... and, on refusal, what crime would they be accused of? ;-)

If you want to see the true Ugandan attitude to gay people then you should go to youtube and search for the video entitled "Eat da poo poo".
