Have just read of a guy accused of racism, by describing the grapevine as 'Jungle Drums'.

Rather depends on the context I would think.

If it's Nick Griffin I wouldn't be surprised
My parents always taught me to say please.

I think it is an American thing, but this guy is asking for opinions, so you may want to join in, from the British angle?
Still 2006...........
When everyone was buying pints of beer we use to call lemonade, Jungle Juice. I wonder if that would be allowed now.

This was a snippet of news in the Sunday Telegraph, p.4. 30/1/11
The accused, a member of Wiltshire Involvement Network, a health watchdog group, was discussing how gossip spreads, and said: You cannot help the jungle drums'. A complaint was made, and Wiltshire Council has banned members of the group from meeting councillors until the matter is resolved. The chairman of WIN said that it was all to do with how information is spread, and had nothing to do with racism.
Racism? Certainly not. It's a mere euphemism for "grapevine" etc. Yet another example of over sensitivity. It's all between the ears, y'know?
what colour were the people she was talking about?
