Why don't some people post their gender on their profile in Answerbank?

How can we know how to speak to them? It's different for either sex. If they are gay they could put whichever side they favour and no-one would know, but for goodness sake put something instead of leaving me wondering. I suppose they could be both. Perhaps their should be a 'take your pick' line.

Sorry, forgot to put this, they could be flirting like mad with someone and then find it is a member of the same sex, which is all right if they don't mind. But if they have checked on the profile they would know. Or not as the case may be - bit confused, but really I was just wondering why they found it necessaryto hide.

I agree with starbuck.....if the site asks you on enrolling, then I think that "decency" would initiate an honest response.

I don't think any of us are 'hiding' - just maybe we don't think it is highly relevant to mention our sex. It usually 'comes out' in time anyway. I have, inadvertently, flirted with women on here. I don't mind though,,, flirting's flirting. It's all nice ;-)

I tend to sum up their gender informally based on what they post, quite often they will eventually reference themselves as either male or female.
