Boiler not working
6 Answers
I have a Worcester 28i boiler which just stopped working yesterday. It came on at 4pm and at 5pm I noticed the radiators going cold. When I looked at the boiler the ignition light (?) was not on but the light next to the programme (twice a day) was lit up. It didnt make any difference which programme I put it on, the main light stayed off. I couldn't get any hot water either. You could hear the pump (or something) working constantly but nothing else was happening. Eventually I had to turn the electric supply to the boiler off as the pump, or whatever, wouldnt stop running. I did wonder if the wind had blown the pilot out but couldn't really imagine that happening when the boiler had been fully on and working ........
Anyone got any ideas? Not sure when the plumber is able to come out but am already peeved at not having any heating or hot water.

We have this boiler and have checked the manual for you. The fault indicator button is to the right of the flame indicator button. To re set press the button for 5 seconds if the fault indicator is flashing slowly. If the fault indicator is flashing fast, turn the power off then on at the mains. When this happened to me a few weeks ago we realised that I'd accidentally knocked the gas mains tap downstairs which meant the boiler cut out completely. It will also cut out if the water pressure is too low.It should operate between 1 and 2. Hope that might help you to sort it out.
