According to this story on the BBC’s website - Jean Else, who was awarded an OBE back in 2001 has had the award revoked by the Queen. Apparently Ms Else (as head of a school), promoted her sister from part-time clerical assistant to assistant head on £58k p.a.

Did the Queen not think what a wonderful person Ms Else is (keeping it in the family), and should one be giving her another award?

Apparently not.

What has this to do with the Queen ?
Standard local behaviour in our local council. Although the clerical assistant would probably be sh@gging the head man, rather than being related to him.

Jeffrey Archer is still a lord. There's no justice.
Where is Justice Robertson when you need him.........
I was thinking that as well jno!
The Royal Family disapproving of nepotism - there's a certain irony in that somewhere!!!
Honours system and the royal family are both outdated, let's rid ourselves of both!
Bet she isn't singing:"There is nothing like a Dame" at the moment!
Outrageous

Thank goodness our wonderful Royal familly doesn't do such things

What were Prince Andrews trade and industry qualifications for being the UK's special representative?

I'm sure he must have worked in trade and Industry quite comprehensively.

And he'd never do something like accept an offer for his house three million quid over the asking price from the son of the President of Kazakhstan
I'd be very surprised if the Queen had personally any involvement in this. She has her own department to deal with it. Its like Cameron stating that our woods are for sale when really its a minister who gets it in her head that we should privatise everything and he then has to go along with it.
