Washing Machine Troubles

My washing machine (Indesit) has stopped letting the fabric softener in during the wash
When the wash is finished it is still in the drawer
Have cleaned out the drawer but it is still doing it
Anyone got any idea if there is anything i can do before calling a repair man?

It's only a simple syphon - the tube needs taking out and cleaning properly. Or, do without fabric conditioner - not really needed, usually.

At the end of the drawer there should be a u-shaped small pipe which can usually be pulled out. This very often gets blocked with congealed softener - try clearing the pipe with something small and flexible or wash in very hot water. Certainly not a job for a call-out.

Having said that......the syphon action depends on some water going into the drawer at the right time- perhaps this is not happening; this may need a repair-man. Nothing is as simple as you first think!

I think you have been given the answer it is almost certain to be the pipe behind the draw it is not easy to pull out but give it a go if it is clear then while the machine is going open the draw to see if water is being sent into the draw
