Should we now have an English National Party?

The present political parties do not seem bothered, so in view of the unfairness in the UK, is it not time for a real English National Party to be launched?

Their first priority, to see an English Parliament formed.

No accusations of being a 'Far Right Party' 'Racist Party' 'Fascist Party' or any other offensive link that some would wish to attach to it.

Black, White, Asians, whatever, anyone who lives in England, paid their taxes and yet are increasingly becoming the poor relations to Scotland and Wales.

The labour party was started by "ordinairy" people.

MPs, and people who control political parties, are not some special breed of people, and you dont have to belong to this "breed" to enter politics.

So start the party yourself, raise money, get members, stand in elections, get elected.

Or are you like most Engflish people (me included) happy to moan about the situation and do nothing about it.

Oh, I wish I was only young enough and able enough (physically), and then given the support I certainly would look at all the possibilities.

But given a few more straws that will finally break the camels back, then I am sure some young blade will sit up and take notice.

In the meantime VHG and others let's just dream and speculate if there was such a Party, what would you like to see in their manifesto?

For once I agree with you. All the other devolved UK counttries have devolved Governments and appear to function adequately.

Why should a Scottish MP vote on English prescription charges?

A slimlined UK Parliament with representatives from each of the devolved Governments could formulate things like Defence.

(The bit you will not like) The Union made sense three hundred years ago but is now irrelevent. A stronger Union of all European coutries suites our interest better now.

Maybe thats why UKIP did so well in the recent by-election beating both Tory and Liberals.

You have to wonder why Scotland and Wales have free prescriptions a cheaper University student education, free help for pensioners etc. I assume they have to balance their budgets just like the English so what are they economonising on?
Maybe the politicians there have a bit more common sense not given out at places like Eton or Oxford.

There is two parties EngDem . English Democrats and English Democratic . One of them stood in the Barnsley election .They received 544 votes.

"The Welsh Assembly" have realised that if you give free prescriptions,free OAP travel and free student grants the majority wont complain of the poorest living conditions in the UK. This shows in the turnout for last weeks referendum on Welsh Law making powers. 35%
